Not crazy at all. I think I did many of those things you did, except maybe the head banging. My mother called me “high strung.” I was raised with Swedes, and I could never stand lutefisk or the yogurt (something pronounced like feel-bunk) that my grandpa insisted on making in the cupboard in coffee cups. I had a meltdown the day I accidentally put my fingers into a cup of that slimy goo. I don’t regret being out of childhood at all, and certain sensory overloads still bother me. I also hate dressing up. And yes, I remember those fallout drills and “conelrad” markings on radios. I still have one of those black and yellow fallout shelter signs in my basement.😊
