Dogs with Autistic Humans: The Relationship Spectrum
Trying a dog podcast as a wat to help understand autism
I am playing around with having my dog, Brea, host a podcast titled "Dogs with Autistic Humans." I created a 5 minute DRAFT video where she discusses a dog's perspective on the differences between acquaintances, situational friends, and friends. These differences were a challenge for me and is taught in the social skills curriculum at the Lionheart Academy of the Triad. I kind of wondered if using short videos from my dog's perspective, might be a useful educational tool.
If you are interested and have five minutes, I would value any comments below or by messaging me. This is very much a draft-- so you don't need to correct content. You can find the video here -

I like the idea of letting the dog hold the perspective here. Dogs seem to move through social worlds with a strong sense of familiarity and comfort, even though they never organise those experiences into the kinds of categories we try to teach. Sometimes shifting the lens slightly makes certain patterns easier to see. I’m curious how Brea approaches it.
Great idea for a video series featuring Brea!
